Photograph of Dennis KnoxDennis has had a diverse yet complimentary career. The success of the works he has been involved in bare evidence of a person with the ability to understand the highly technical, yet able to operate in areas of management and leadership. As a young man his first career choice was in Law Enforcement in New Zealand as a Traffic Officer (Highway Patrolman), where a good understanding of the Law and the legal process was gained. His soundness of judgement was evident in one of the highest success ratios in the department.

Prior to joining the Police he had volunteered in the Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserves, starting as an Ordinary Seaman, the lowest rank, he was soon offered a commission and quickly rose to the rank of Lieutenant. Several years later, after his annual sea time in an RNZN Hydrographic ship, he was offered a transfer to regular service with the unusual provision of no loss of rank or seniority. Here he was trained as an Hydrographic Surveyor with a successful career culminating in his appointment as Commanding Officer HMNZS Takapu, an hydrographic survey vessel of the RNZN.

Moving on to the offshore oil industry his first assignment, with absolutely no experience in commercial works, was as a Party Chief Surveyor on a pipeline project in West Australia. The challenge of this somewhat abrupt entry into commercial offshore survey was well met with a successful first project, which was quickly followed by a succession of other projects around the world as a Party Chief Surveyor. Dennis is in the rare position of being able to claim no loss of project time due to survey down time on any project under his control.

While acting as Party Chief on a project, the main contractor offered him a position as their Client Representative on the next phase of the project. This was readily accepted and was soon followed by other Client Representative and Project Surveyor tasks in various offshore fields, Bathymetric and Topographic surveys, Geotechnical and Geophysical surveys, Seismic operations, Construction and Installation works. Dennis finally reached levels in senior management with responsibility for major offshore projects at all levels, management, contracts, budgets, procedures and reports.

This varied and successful career is evidence of the personal qualities, which Dennis exemplifies. He has a work ethic of absolute honesty and accountability with a friendly, confident character which results in the ability to maintain good relationships, even in the most difficult of situations. Married for over thirty years, Dennis and his wife Cheryl have two children, now adults, a son operating an ROV business, and a daughter (now married) with an honours degree in Graphic Arts. Both are active in the Church.

In the latter part of this successful career the call of God to go to Great Britain was very strong and so whilst still in the commercial world he started to visit Great Britain, where he checked on the many references to the British Israel position he found in his research. He is now based in London where the Israel Britain Evangelistic Association was formed.
